O: Bird very visual, eyes look good on fundic exam. Palpated L shoulder - can feel bony callus but humeral head seems to shift more than expected on rotation. Took x-rays: can see some callus starting around fracture ends, coracoid fracture displaced, humeral head seems more rotated and shifted caudally than on previous exam but bird is slightly rotated.
Gabapentin: 0.27 cc (100 mg/ml compounded) PO
Calcium Slurry: 1.64 cc (100 mg/ml) PO

A: Fractures in L shoulder are stabilizing but concerned about stability of humero-scapular joint - will not be able to fully assess ability of bird to be released until bird is ready to be moved outside and flight tested.

P: End all meds, keep on E3D catch, consider trying outside after another week of cage rest.

O: L clavicle fracture feels stable. L coracoid fracture is displaced medially and there is a very slight shift on palpation of wing but no significant crepitus. Mild debris in vitreous along ventral aspect of both eyes, retina itself looks good, bird seems very visual. Took x-rays: there is one very small butterfly fragment that may have shifted but overall the bone fragments seem to be in the same place as the intake x-rays, can start to see some very early bony healing starting. Ok to leave bird out of wrap.

Very slight pop in shoulder on rotation. Placed a fabric wrap on L wing and a body band. Bird visual in hand. Took IOPs for study. Gave meds PO.

A: BAR. Shoulder is fairly stable although there is a very small amount of crepitus still. She would benefit from having the wrap/body band until follow up rads, however if she continues to try and remove the wrap, it may be better to leave it off and just cage rest to prevent her from re-injuring the shoulder.

A: Patient suffering from L shoulder fracture and ocular trauma. Very guarded prognosis as all L shoulder bones appear to be broken and concerned that L humerus shoulder joint could be affected. Vision also compromised, but difficult to assess vision when in hand. Patient also appears to have tail fracture, which can become an for birds flight. Will monitor vision while in care and have vet further assess eyes.

P: Rx Meloxicam, Ca slurry, Tramadol. Collect blood and fecal. Stain eyes and take IOPs. Vet check on 11/28. Monitor vision. Monitor L figure 8/body band and change E2D until vet check.
